Rotary Clubs Team Up with Venkateshwar Hospital to Raise Cancer Awareness at South Campus

New Delhi – Rotary Clubs of Delhi West and Delhi Ridge teamed up with Venkateshwar Hospital to organize a cancer awareness and detection camp with a mammography van at the Health Centre, South Campus, Delhi University on July 26, 2023.

The camp was attended by a large number of students and staff, who availed of the medical facilities, which also included general health checkups. This was the 12th such camp organized by the Rotary Clubs in association with Venkateshwar Hospital, which has opened a cancer division and is committed to raising awareness about the dreaded disease.

The CMO of South Campus, Delhi University, Dr. Poonam Agrawal, was all praise for the efforts by the Rotary Clubs and assured to have future partnerships with Rotary to enlighten the young generation about their health.

“We are grateful to the Rotary Clubs for organizing this camp. It was a great opportunity for our students and staff to get free cancer screenings and learn more about cancer prevention,” said Dr. Agrawal.

President of Rotary Club of Delhi West, said, “We are committed to raising awareness about cancer and providing early detection and treatment options to those who need it. This camp is just one example of our efforts.”

The camp was a great success and helped to raise awareness about cancer among the students and staff of Delhi University. The Rotary Clubs are committed to continuing their efforts to raise awareness about cancer and provide early detection and treatment options to those who need it.

• The camp was held from 9am to 5pm.
• There were 10 doctors and nurses on hand to provide medical care.
• The mammography van was able to screen 50 people per day.
• The camp was free of charge.
• The Rotary Clubs are planning to organize more cancer awareness and detection camps in the future.
