Stress and Diabetes

Host: Everyone dreams for the world where nobody will fall ill and nobody will have any problem. All these sound as a beautiful dream. But it’s impossible in reality because sadness, happiness, smile and laughter continue in the whole life of a human being. But these problems become more critical when the appalling disease like diabetes grips us. It’s just like a movie in which a climax comes. Life becomes difficult while enduring the burden of diabetes on the shoulder. We fall prey to diabetes due to lifestyle disorders but can these disorders or diabetes be reversed? We have Dr. Gaurav Sharma- India’s number 1 lifestyle doctor and famous diabetologist.

Doctor, you have always been saying not to fear from diabetes but to confront it with courage. Is it true that diabetes can be reversible?

Dr. Gaurav Sharma: Well, you have doubts but I don’t have doubts since we have already treated zillion patients who have so many success stories and testimonials. Your question should be how much time it takes for reversal. As old the diabetes is as much time it takes for reversal. We have stories in which some take few days while others take few months for reversing diabetes.  But no case extends to one or more year including the cases in which the patients are on insulin. If a patient is on insulin then, definitely, he will take more time to recover. It takes more time in case of some patients who follow this around 40 or 50 or 30 percent. If your diabetes is few months old then its reversal begins within few days and if it is one year old then it will take one and half month. It all depends on your body. But definitely, it’s possible and I don’t know quicker method to treat diabetes than that of this to reverse diabetes.

Host: Which was the most complicated case of diabetes in your career?

Dr. Gaurav Sharma: Recently, a complicated case was registered in my life. A patient who was on insulin and glucometer showed his levels were more than 500 that it did not evaluate. Then, we started our treatment and improvement begins to come. Then, my diabetes educators had a talk with me asking what we should do as no result was coming out. I asked them to check from the basic if the insulin was placed in the refrigerator or not; diet was taken in time or not; diabetplus and Diabetall were taken properly on not. He was leading to decomposition. When we went deeply into the matter while talking to her, stress was inflicting her severely. I said to her if you can’t manage your stress then we also can’t help you. Your development is impossible until and unless you conquer your stress.

Caller I:  I am Dilip Patel from Patna. My fasting level is 250 and PP is 300. I want to take your opinion in this regard.

Dr. Gaurav Sharma: You have to make some dietary changes for which you ought to talk to our diabetes educators. You have to do some exercise, add herbs and make your insulin stronger. You have to introduce Diabetall and diabetplus. Come down your blood sugar levels below 120 milligram per deciliter. You ought to talk to our diabetes educators for guidance and diet plan.

Host: Doctor, before this call you were narrating the episode of the severe patient on insulin whose diabetes was uncontrollable…

Dr. Gaurav Sharma: I reviewed my program and diet plan. Stress was the greatest factor for triggering any disease. Stress can be treated through three ways. First is to eradicate the disease as soon as possible; second is to ignore the problem and the third one is to divert your attention, such as via pranayam. Diabetes is a very big factor of outraging the diabetes. It has scientific explanation. Cortisol is a stress hormone which acts as catabolic hormone while breaking down the muscle tissue. It also releases glucose. Cortisol releases instant energy that rises-up blood sugar immediately. Stress activates catabolic effects and hence, blood sugar levels shoot up.

Caller II: I am Om Prakash Yadav and I am speaking from Gorakhpur. I took your supplements but the result was very nominal. I am an army man and I get medicine from army doctors which I take devotionally. But my sugar level stays still as 150 and 120. I took your food supplements.

Dr. Gaurav Sharma: How long did you take diabetplus?

Caller II: Till 3 months.

Dr. Gaurav Sharma:L How many capsules were you taking?

Caller II: 2 each in the morning and evening.

Dr. Gaurav Sharma: Were you taking alcohol?

Caller II: I take alcohol in negligible amount, sometimes in party or marriages.

Dr. Gaurav Sharma: Did you follow the diet chart?

Caller II: Except multi-grain, I followed the entire chart. I use Patanjali Atta of Ramdev.

Dr. Gaurav Sharma: Did you do exercise?

Caller II: I do exercise of my own which are similar to yours.

Dr. Gaurav Sharma: The exercise that you think are similar to that of ours is not same. You have to follow the diet chart properly. If your blood sugar levels are not coming into control then your diabetes is progressive. I have presumption that you measure your blood sugar on and off. Did you check it regularly?

Caller II: I measured them every fortnight.

Dr. Gaurav Sharma: You will not notice any consistency. You ought to monitor your blood sugar level. If you add Diabetall also then it will be beneficial for you. Talk to our diabetes educators for guidance.  We will corporate with you until your sugar level does not come down.
